FAQs

Are sessions subject to sales tax?

Yes. All photography sessions are subject to applicable sales tax, which will be added to your invoice at checkout. Taxes are required and non negotiable and will be clearly shown before payment is completed.

How does your process work and do clients choose the photos?

After your session, I carefully review and select the strongest images to edit based on lighting, emotion, composition, and overall quality. Clients do not select images for editing. This ensures your final gallery is cohesive and fully represents my moody, bold, and contrast rich editing style.

I guide you through posing during your session and also incorporate natural, unposed moments using prompts so your images feel authentic and confident. My editing style is consistent across all sessions and is not altered or customized.

A non refundable retainer and a signed contract are required to officially book any session. All remaining balances are due on the day of your session. Your date is not secured until the retainer is paid and the contract is signed.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, Affirm, Klarna, and PayPal. Payment plans are available to help make booking easier and more flexible.

Checks and money orders are not accepted. All accepted payment options and available payment plans will be reviewed during the booking process.

Are travel expenses included in your packages?

Travel within the Quad Cities area is included. Sessions outside of the Quad Cities are an additional $40 travel fee. When you inquire, we will go over travel details together and everything will be clearly outlined in your contract. I currently travel up to one hour and thirty minutes from Geneseo.

What should we wear to our session?

If you are unsure about what colors or styles to wear, feel free to reach out and I am happy to help. In general, earth tones and jewel tones photograph best, especially with my moody, bold, and contrast rich editing style. Neutrals, deeper colors, and textured fabrics tend to photograph beautifully.

Bright, neon, or highly saturated colors do not photograph as well and can be distracting, particularly with my editing style. Choosing coordinated tones rather than exact matching outfits will help create a more timeless and cohesive look.

What if we want something more adventurous for our session?

I am absolutely open to creative and adventurous session ideas as long as they are safe. Hiking, unique locations, and storytelling concepts are always welcome. While I will not photograph anything life risking, I am more than happy to capture bold and creative ideas within reason. For example, I will photograph you standing next to a plane but not jumping out of one.

Can we include our dog or other pets in the session?

Yes, absolutely. Pets are always welcome and encouraged. I have photographed everything from dogs and horses to farm animals and more. If they are part of your life, they deserve to be part of your photos too.

How long does it take to receive our photos and how are they delivered?

Most portrait sessions are delivered within three weeks, sometimes up to four weeks during peak seasons. Wedding galleries can take up to three months due to back to back weddings and editing volume. All images are delivered through a private online gallery sent directly to your email.

Do you help with posing? Do you take candid photos as well?

Yes. I guide you through posing during your session while also using prompts to capture natural, candid moments. You do not need to know how to pose. I will help every step of the way so your photos feel confident, relaxed, and authentic.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out through the contact form. I’m always happy to help.
